A city with a valuable history and tradition. It is a highly atmospheric place that has become known for its monuments by renowned architects:

Here was born one of world history's legendary figures, Prince Henry the Navigator.

You'll either see in new guidebooks that it is also the birthplace of that world-famous fictional character, Harry Potter. The author, J. K. Rowling was living in Porto as an English teacher when she started writing her first book.

Our Porto surf school has the perfect spot to surf in the Matosinhos beach, offering comfortable changing rooms, hot showers and a classroom where the students can watch and analyse the videos of the surf classes. You can stay up to date with surf forecasts during your surf holidays here at Matosinhos at surroundings of Porto. We also present surf workshops (including ding repairs), activities with children, as well as birthday and bachelor parties.

A slightly different concept to start your surf adventures - and it is only possible because we are in Porto. This is the perfect way to experience the city, and to immerse in the surfing lifestyle!

ON NATURE, NEAR THE CITY

Get away from the hustle of the city

The Maceda Surf Camp is located just on the Maceda Natural Park and a few minutes from wild and well-preserved uncrowded beaches. You can walk, ride a bicycle or take a lift on our van or our 4x4. Our surf camp is near the traditional fishing villages, Furadouro, Cortegaça and Esmoriz.

And Porto, is just 30 minutes away by car. It also near the beautiful city of Aveiro, just 30 kms far. Our surf house is a place where people from all over the world can enjoy the surf experience, have fun, meet people, exchange experiences and relax.

About Maceda beach

Maceda beach has 8km of sand and it is in the middle of recognized surf spots. From Espinho to Aveiro, you will find the best surf in the center and north of Portugal. With a peaceful and friendly environment, where Portuguese traditions are still alive but the parties are not forgotten, at Maceda Surf Camp, you can enjoy the pure feeling of surf.

Medieval Fair, Santa Maria da Feira

SANTA MARIA DA FEIRA - THE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE

One of the places you must go when you stay in our surfcamp is the Medieval town - Santa Maria da Feira - just 4kms far from Maceda.

There you can visit the castle, walk through the streets, that seem stopped in time, and relax in one of the great pubs.

In August, the famous Medieval festival takes place, and the local people dressed up and decorated their houses, medieval style. You can also see the different performances around the streets, all day and all night, and try Middle Age food on one of the typical tents!!

The Imaginarius festival takes place in June, and it is another great festival in this small town. Street circus groups from all over the world make lots of performances along the streets! It is an amazing show.
